I play with paper, cutting and pasting to create volume and form. My source of inspiration is nature and its endless creations—its limitless colors, its surprising textures. Paper is contradictory, provocative, and humble in its ephemeral nature. Its use as a material is rooted in the philosophy of arte povera, which champions the value of the idea, intuition, thought, and the individual. When I create my pieces, I unconsciously seek a primal connection: the constant fascination of childhood, the magical way of seeing that transforms the ordinary and everyday into something new and wonderful. My process is intuitive; through my hands I connect with the material, which guides me toward the final form.
